I've been thinking about blogging for a while -- I spend a lot of time at the computer in highly useful activities, like reading Television Without Pity, and playing Spider Solitaire. So why not do something potentially more interesting and possibly even more addictive? After all, I too have opinions! Some of them are half-baked, and some barely warmed over. And my life is fascinating to me, so perhaps there are some poor souls out here who would, having driven themselves mad lurking on websites and playing Spider Solitaire would gain some measure of comfort knowing that they are not alone in their pathetic lives.
So here goes...

Dear MadeMarion,
It sounds as if the boys are permanently esconced. Do you allow them free kitchen privileges? Bathroom privileges? Do they do their own laundry? If yes, that is your first mistake. I have my own three working all day long. If they are lucky, they get a few orts for dinner…. They can't wait to leave. Say hello to Speed for me. Sajid K., the elephant boy was my first.

how cool -- a comment! Yes Speed Racer and I are real suckers when it comes to those kids. (Although, they do do some laundry -- which annoys Speed Racer because they leave their things in the washer and dryer). Oh well, at least we won't be lonely in our old age!
Sajid was cute too, but Speed Racer just had something about him -- was it the little scarf?

Yes, maybe the scarf, maybe the big eyes or the cute monkey. Believe it or not my kids like Speed Racer. My oldest is passionately into all those Japanese cartoons (oh yes I am not allowed to call them cartoons - graphic novels, I think she calls them. She is 15 and I am not allowed to make any comments about them to her, because I obviously don't understand :-) ). She's watching them on the internet now (in Japanese). Maybe she'll learn a new language along the way. I am beginning to get hooked on this whole blog and message board thing. My husband thinks it is all very silly, but then he discovered George Carlin on You-tube so he doesn't have a foot to stand on.
Got to get those kids in bed again. School tomorrow.
